Deforestation

 Deforestation is a huge problem in today's United states or anywhere in the world. Deforestation keeps going up as the years go by. When deforestation rises so does our carbon footprint. It can be fixed by the replanting of trees of labor to cut them down. We could also keep a check on the companies that use lumber, so they dont use too much.

Deforestation has an effect on the carbon cycle related to the greenhouse gases. the trees and forests balance the amount needed to maintain a goof amount of carbon and oxygen. The cutting down and not replanting of trees slowly warms the Earth.

    For every tree that lumber industries cut down there should be at least one planted in order to maintain a stable amount of trees. Also I believe that tree in certain areas such as rainforests should be protected from deforestation.

    I agree with you that deforestation is very harmful to our environment. Earth with suffer greatly the more trees we cut down for no reason. We can't keep letting the carbon footprint rise.

    I agree with this because we need to stop cutting down so many trees because one it is taking away o2 and sencondly it is taking away ecosystems from animals.

Acid Zone in Chesapeake Bay Found

     According to the University of Delaware, the Chesapeake Bay is becoming acidic as it has gone to 7.4 pH from an average of 8.2. The oxidation of ammonia and hydrogen sulfide may be the factor that is leading to the higher acidity levels in coastal oceans, but it can eventually lead to more of open oceans. Naturally the waters of the Chesapeake Bay have a regulatory system that holds back the increase of acidity levels in the area, and this works as the dissolving of living shells, non-living aragonite, and calcite minerals.
