The Burning Question Of Bonfire Night Pollution

 This artical was talking about the affects of soot, bonfires, and black carbon. Researchers have found that black carbon from bonfire have risen up into the atmosphere. This then causes ice droplets to form in cloud and could potentially freeze the clouds. The results of this can cause climate change. Finding this out about the black carbon has lead the reachers to find out more information about ice nucleating particals. Ice nucleating particals are a key research are for climate change. Clouds are one of the most important thing to research when it comes to climate change. Another thing that can casue ice nucleating particals in the atmosphere is areosol products. When the combustion process happens in the products these then can form ice nucleating particals.


While reading this artical I realized the importance of figuring out these things about our planet. I would never have thought that aresol products or bonfire could provide this much climate change. I would like to research more information about this.

    I would have never thought that burning wood or just starting an innocent fire could be harmful. I can assume that many others don't know this and should be informed. This is another way we can try to prevent climate change.

    There is so much climate change happening in our environment and its not good. By reducing the amount of fires, we could help stop climate change. Being careful of when your burning, could lead to less brush fires and wildfires starting. Even though some fires are started, due to there ecosystem, we should try to prevent the ones us humans start.

    There are so many little things we do in our daily lives that can really effect our environment. It may be small if only a few people, for example, start a bonfire, but when a ton of people are all burning wood it can cause some real issues. Every action that can harm the environment, now matter how large or small, it can really create a lasting impact.

Acid Zone in Chesapeake Bay Found

     According to the University of Delaware, the Chesapeake Bay is becoming acidic as it has gone to 7.4 pH from an average of 8.2. The oxidation of ammonia and hydrogen sulfide may be the factor that is leading to the higher acidity levels in coastal oceans, but it can eventually lead to more of open oceans. Naturally the waters of the Chesapeake Bay have a regulatory system that holds back the increase of acidity levels in the area, and this works as the dissolving of living shells, non-living aragonite, and calcite minerals.
