Florida faces 'imminent' pollution catastrophe from phosphate mine pond
Crews were dumping millions of gallons of contaminated waste into a florida bay on sunday morning. This caused immediate pollution which is really bad because we are already are polluted so much. This cause a disaster, because the pond started to flood. Officials had to evacuate citizens out of the area of flooding around the pond. The pond was used to get water for some of the people around the area, and now that its contaminated thats a huge problem.
Ponds, lakes, and other bodies of water are extremely important to life. And the way were are just dumping waste into them is a huge problem because it will destroy the ecosystems there as well as the ones around it.
ReplyDeleteThis is an upsetting story to hear. Companies seem to have little to no care for the environment but only manipulate it for their own personal use with no care of its impact on others. This practice in general should have harsher punishments rather than the slap on the wrist that most often occurs in situations such as this.
