Skipping School to Protest Climate Change

This article was about students all over the world going on a school strike to protest against the government not doing anything about climate change. The students believe that climate change is something that is affecting the environment right now and something needs to be done about it. To protest this, they are not going to school today, Friday March 15, to show the governors of their state's that this is unacceptable that nobody is doing anything about climate change. This article was interesting for me to read because it was cool to see students that I can relate to go to such far measures about something they are passionate about.

    Climate change is a problem, and students skipping school to show awareness for it is nice to see. Hopefully, this will further promote action for climate change, because it will effect the generations to come, and action needs to be taken to help eliminate these negative aspects of our environment.

    Since climate change causes such a threat to our environment, it is very nice to see that students are taking action in order to prevent the dangers in the near future. This shows that they care about the environment and hopefully this event will cause more people to become aware and educated on the harmfulness of climate change.

    It is very important that kids are protesting because they will be alive for when climate change really becomes a problem and it is an important topic in today society.

Acid Zone in Chesapeake Bay Found

     According to the University of Delaware, the Chesapeake Bay is becoming acidic as it has gone to 7.4 pH from an average of 8.2. The oxidation of ammonia and hydrogen sulfide may be the factor that is leading to the higher acidity levels in coastal oceans, but it can eventually lead to more of open oceans. Naturally the waters of the Chesapeake Bay have a regulatory system that holds back the increase of acidity levels in the area, and this works as the dissolving of living shells, non-living aragonite, and calcite minerals.
