This article explains how the pollution on these beaches are gathered up each year in September and they have picked up about 300,000,000 Lbs. of trash of more than 350 varieties. This pollution is affected the wild marine life and killing them and isn't good for the environment. This is very shameful of human beings they need to take their actions into account of other creatures and the environment.

    The amount of trash that is getting cleaned up is insane. If people aren't careful the pollution could cause total extinction of many species that live in the ocean.

    The ocean is an important resource to our daily lives. The amount of waste in the ocean is unacceptable. We need to protect the ocean and the life in it. We need to learn ways to reduce waste and pollution. It is shocking to read that 300,000,000 pounds of trash was in the ocean.

    Its great to see the effort to help protect the environment and keep the earth clean. Its sad to see the trash, but as long as we change our ways, we can help the earth help us.

Acid Zone in Chesapeake Bay Found

     According to the University of Delaware, the Chesapeake Bay is becoming acidic as it has gone to 7.4 pH from an average of 8.2. The oxidation of ammonia and hydrogen sulfide may be the factor that is leading to the higher acidity levels in coastal oceans, but it can eventually lead to more of open oceans. Naturally the waters of the Chesapeake Bay have a regulatory system that holds back the increase of acidity levels in the area, and this works as the dissolving of living shells, non-living aragonite, and calcite minerals.
