"Zero Tolerance" Plastic Pollution

'Zero tolerance' plan eyed for plastic pollution

The nations in the UN have agreed to talk about a legal treaty banning plastic from seas and oceans. They already have a ban for ships throwing plastic off their boat but we have no laws against plastic going into the ocean from the land. This will help all of the marine life in the oceans be safer in their environment. It also makes the world a cleaner place.

  1. If they ban the plastic from the seas and oceans what will be done to clean up the plastic and trash already in the ocean?

  2. By banning plastic from the oceans this will help keep animals safe and the planet healthier. Even though it is hard to remove the plastic already in the oceans by banning plastic it will prevent the amount of plastic over time adding up.

  3. This is a good idea that will benefit the oceans sea life and environment but where will the plastic go then? We still need to find a solution to the pollution.

  4. I totally agree that this is a very good idea, but I think more needs to be done in terms of where the plastic will end up and how we will dispose of it in a way that doesn't harm another environment!

  5. I also agree that this is a good idea and can definitely benefit our planet and ocean ecosystems. I think it is a good step in the right direction, but where will the plastic be put instead?
