College Shooting

Recently on the UNC Charlotte campus 2 students were found dead and 4 injured, after shooter. The suspect, a male student, is in custody now. Officers are going room by room on campus to identify any students, faculty or others who may be sheltering in place. I think overall it is really scary because a shooting can happen anywhere and we never know when. Unfortunately without increasing security, these shootings will continue to occur.

    I think it is strange to see another school shooting but it is unclear what the motive was.

    The amount of school shootings that occur in the United States is absurd. I am curious as to why our country has so many of them compared to other countries.

    It is sad to consistently reread about more and more school shootings. It will be interesting to see if the amount of shootings will affect future laws and regulations.

    I didn’t even hear about this until now and school shootings shouldn’t be so common that now they aren’t even big news

Acid Zone in Chesapeake Bay Found

     According to the University of Delaware, the Chesapeake Bay is becoming acidic as it has gone to 7.4 pH from an average of 8.2. The oxidation of ammonia and hydrogen sulfide may be the factor that is leading to the higher acidity levels in coastal oceans, but it can eventually lead to more of open oceans. Naturally the waters of the Chesapeake Bay have a regulatory system that holds back the increase of acidity levels in the area, and this works as the dissolving of living shells, non-living aragonite, and calcite minerals.
