In California, state and business leaders are trying to create new strategies to help prevent wildfires. The governor is trying to bring agencies in to help clear 500,000 acres of land a year for a decade to help reduce wildfires.

I think that trying to prevent wildfires is a good because California is trying to protect people and the natural resources they have. I think this is a good article because it relates to the carbon cycle. If a wildfire should spark, that emit carbon into the atmosphere.

  1. This is really awesome that people have the resources and are trying to fix the problem of forest fires in California. Not only does this help the people of California, but also the wildlife and the economic standpoint.

  2. I think that this is a good idea. I feel that clearing 500,000 acres of land would work to prevent wildfires, but what about the animals and plants that call these forests home. Although it would prevent wildfires it would destroy the habitats of many creatures.

  3. I think it is great that California is trying to prevent wildfires. I don't think the governor's mind is in the right places though. By clearing 500,000 acres of land, it may help with wildfires, but what about the animals that inhabit that area? I feel the governor isn't looking to prevent wildfires, but instead I think this is more of a business opportunity.
