What You Can’t See Can Hurt You

Over the last 50 years the US has made tremendous progress cleaning our air.  The US has done this by targeting things and putting regulations on them.  But it is not a complete victory because we are still breathing harmful pollution even after all of these regulations.  One pollutant that is a concern is known as PM2.5.  This pollutant is only 2.5 micrometers in diameter or less.  This particle can cause respiratory and cardiovascular disease.  I feel as if the US should at least attempt to do something to reduce this particle.  This affects almost everyone in the US as it causes cardiovascular and respiratory diseases.
