In this article it talks about the fight to keep animals environments safe and natural as possible so that these animals can live in a habitat that is natural to them and not affected or changed by humans in any way. Specifically chimpanzees  are mentioned in this article and it talks about their nut cracking ability and how they eat their food and that there needs to be a push to keep the habitat natural enough to do this. All animals have some sort of special skill that they use to survive and the ability chimps have is the way they can gather food. The UN is specifically trying to protect these animals in West Africa as it is where the larger populations are and this would the easiest spot to protect.

I think that this is really awesome that people are taking a notice to special characteristics that animals have and thing they do that are unique and should be protected. To me I think it's important that animals are protected so they can evolve with the times just like humans do. Often times people invade the environment of animals and infringe on how they live and this needs to be stopped.

    I agree with you. I think it is very important that we keep the environment and animals in our world protected and safe. I think it is great that it has become a serious issue talked about more often in order to push for change.

Acid Zone in Chesapeake Bay Found

     According to the University of Delaware, the Chesapeake Bay is becoming acidic as it has gone to 7.4 pH from an average of 8.2. The oxidation of ammonia and hydrogen sulfide may be the factor that is leading to the higher acidity levels in coastal oceans, but it can eventually lead to more of open oceans. Naturally the waters of the Chesapeake Bay have a regulatory system that holds back the increase of acidity levels in the area, and this works as the dissolving of living shells, non-living aragonite, and calcite minerals.
