Bat Feces: A reliable source of climate change

Bat Feces shows not only what the bat ate but this may actually show records of climate change. The isotopes found in the guano change in the nitrogen cycle and difference in precipitation during the winter months. This is a good source because there has been a big debate about whether or not the equipment from 25-30 years ago will give the same accuracy of information as equipment today. This then calls into question the reliability of the data and then if we can even begin to compare the information accurately.

  1. FABULOUS article. This encompasses so many different parts of science - cycles of matter, radioactivity, validity of data, reliability of equipment, climate change, direct vs. indirect conclusions... I LOVE IT.

  2. I think this was a smart article to look at because it really helps to determine the amount of knowledge people used to have about environment. It can also help tell us what it is we need to fix as well.

  3. This is a really cool article, I find it very interesting that we are able to gain that data just from bat feces. It makes me wonder what other animals we are able to do that with so we are able to gain more information about the climate.

  4. This is actually pretty insane to think that a pile of bat poop could determine the future of our environment. The article is very interesting and provides a different outlook on climate change.
