Creative Ideas for Arising Problems

From the above article there are several ideas that have the potential to become a reality. The most surprising one for me is that someone thought that mini drones would/could be a solution to pollination problems. My thoughts on that are they we should really just take better care of bees. While being a good idea, I think that its not practical. Alternative plastics is another one on the list. Being made out of cassava plants, this new plastic is biodegradable, and is just as cheap as current plastics. I would really like to see more of this, since it helps encourage more beneficial ways of industry, and business practices.

    I think these solutions to environmental problems we are facing are both interesting and amazing. While the biodegradable bullets, sieve, plane, and plant-based plastic all seem like great ideas that could help to mitigate the impact humans have on the environment, the drones seem unnecessary to me. Pollination is required to keep plants growing, however bees should be doing this, not man made drones. While this is a very creative solution, we should be more focused on protecting and preserving the bees as opposed to trying to find a way to replace them. Overall, these potential products could have highly positive impacts on the environment and society. It is amazing to see what people are coming up with, and hopefully more research will go into creating environmental conscious goods and means of doing things.

Acid Zone in Chesapeake Bay Found

     According to the University of Delaware, the Chesapeake Bay is becoming acidic as it has gone to 7.4 pH from an average of 8.2. The oxidation of ammonia and hydrogen sulfide may be the factor that is leading to the higher acidity levels in coastal oceans, but it can eventually lead to more of open oceans. Naturally the waters of the Chesapeake Bay have a regulatory system that holds back the increase of acidity levels in the area, and this works as the dissolving of living shells, non-living aragonite, and calcite minerals.
