Toxic waste found in Serbia

In northern Serbia, on a property close by to a farmland and a railway line, 100 tons of hazards toxic waste has been stored in the open and within a barn. last month, authorities found this deposit, along with a second one cement into the wall of a nearby factory. Across Serbia, reports of poorly secured waste deposits have the possibility of causing long term public health and environmental problems.

  1. This is quite sad, but not very shocking. I mean not many people care about their waste and how it affects the environment and society around them. Hopefully one day we'll have a future where people care.

  2. I know that many people don't focus on their waste but this is a surprise to me that they are finding actual toxic waste. It is scary to think that waste could be in your backyard

  4. I'm generally not surprised as this is Serbia, however I hope they change the status of their waste system. Since it sounds like they just dump stuff everywhere and don't care about what happens in the future. It's scary to think about that this is at a farm anyway, since the animals are exposed to it. If eaten, the people who eat those animals could also become sick.
