Every Day Matters: Guardian Stops Accepting Fossil Fuel Ads
The Guardian, a well known London newspaper, has stopped receiving advertisements from gas and oil companies. The reason is that Guardian wants to get rid of any connection towards fossil fuels due to the negative effects it has on the climate. This action has pushed for a difference by raising awareness about climate change and suggesting other media companies to do the same. With the help of others, there may be a possibility in reducing climate change and stopping companies, like shell, that support fossil fuels. This won't happen over night however, it is a good step in the right direction.

I think this is a great start; I feel like in order to see future improvements, we need to start somewhere and that this can be a good first step. A lot of companies do not care about the environment if it will make them not able to appeal to other customers and they will put their business first, but with little companies and in this case, newspapers, ending their connections with these types of businesses, we are taking the right step forward.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that there's a company starting to try to make a difference in the world. There has been so much pollution and green house gas effect that has changed the the earth drastically. It's good to see that there are companies and people who want better our planet.
ReplyDeleteI think this is an amazing start to see that companies care about the effects that they have on the environment and noticing the negative impacts their company has on the environment. Dealing with companies all they want to do is make a profit and they don't care about the chemicals that they are releasing into the air that we breathe and the permanent damage it has on the earth. It's reassuring that people want to bring awareness to climate change and want to create a solution to the problem.
