More rain and less snow means increased flood risk

A Stanford study reveals that there has been more rain than snow this winter and it results in more floods.  An analysis of over 400 watersheds from 1980-2016 shows that floods created by rainfall can be more than 2.5x as large as those driven by snow melt.  Due to global temperature increases there has been more rain than snow this winter and it is definitely having a great impact on the environment.
This relates to our class topics because we are currently discussing the human impact on the planet through various things such as deforestation, industries, the fishing industry, etc.  All of which have a great impact on the Earth.  The rising industry causes pollution which then causes global temperatures to rise and due to human impact and global temperature rising there is more rain which is creating exponential flooding worldwide.
