Micro Plastic Pollution

January Blog Post

In the past years, humanity has been producing so much plastic material that micro forms of it are showing up everywhere. Micro plastics are now in our food and water supplies that we use every day. Plastics can take up to 450 years to degrade, so you can imagine the possible damage this plastic could be doing to ourselves and the environment. These micro plastics are washing up on almost every shore and affect the local animal life negatively.

I see micro plastics as a problem that we cannot avoid unless we completely void the production of plastic products. Plastic is in almost everything we use today. It's kind of scary how common the substance is nowadays. It is even in the products you wouldn't expect it seems like. Simple actions such as taking a shower every day or washing your clothes can lead to the production of plastic pollution.
