This article is also interesting because it is saying that climate change is all done by people. I think climate change is a problem created by people.
President Trump based a large part of his campaign in siding with the Republican Party's opinion that climate change and global warming is either not as big or a threat to our planet as it comes off as, or that is does not exist at all. Clearly during election season, he had to strictly side with his party's ideals in order to secure votes that would present him with the presidential candidacy. But, now that he has won office, he is saying that global warming does exist, and is threat to our society due to environmentally harmful actions resulting from humans. If he is changing his stance on the issue, why does he continue to have Scott Pruitt, a known global warming denier, sit as the head of the EPA and why does he continue to withdraw climate policies set in place by the Obama administration (an administration that outwardly supported the findings of climate change and set in place regulations and policies to lessen the impact of human activities on the environment)? Is recognizing the issue and continuing to do nothing about it because of the impact climate change policies would have on big businesses in America? I am interested to see what the President puts forward on this matter.
Within the past two decades ocean currents have been speeding up at a fast rate because of climate change. It was predicted that ocean currents would speed up, but not this quickly. Since this was not expected, people are worried that climate change could have many other effects that we are not prepared for. Global ocean circulation has accelerated by 36 percent since the early 1990's. Our oceans have a huge impact on the planet and the different effects of climate change will change our planet for the worse. It is scary that scientists have underestimated the effects of climate change and it shows how little time we have to work on this issue. Everybody needs to understand that we are facing a huge problem and if we don't all start to act on it then there is not much hope for a good future. I hope that the future planned research goes well and scientists can learn more about the unknowns. link
Recently on the UNC Charlotte campus 2 students were found dead and 4 injured, after shooter. The suspect, a male student, is in custody now. Officers are going room by room on campus to identify any students, faculty or others who may be sheltering in place. I think overall it is really scary because a shooting can happen anywhere and we never know when. Unfortunately without increasing security, these shootings will continue to occur. https://abcnews.go.com/US/dead-injured-shooting-unc-charlotte-campus-officials/story?id=62739015
linky Summary Coyotes are becoming an increasing risk in urban areas. They are coming into contact with people and pets more and more as time goes on. Researchers decided to find out what is making coyotes so comfortable around humans and how to prevent these interactions. They are led to believe that it begins with the parenting. They believe the fearlessness is passed down from parent to offspring. They went to a wildlife conservatory in Utah to observe the captive, but mostly wild, coyotes that reside there. When the keepers feed them, they usually made as little contact with the coyotes as possible, to limit the human interaction. However, when they started staying after they fed them, the coyotes became more comfortable with the human presence. After generations, the coyotes had no fear whatsoever towards the humans. They became bolder with each passing generation. This reveals that as humans, to prevent exposure to these predators, we need to make our yards as uni...
WHOA! Big deal, considering what has been presented thus far by the Trump administration. Interesting.
