Shrinking the Size of National Monuments

This article talks about the new proposal by the Head of Interior, Ryan Zinke, to cut down the size of 27 National Monuments. This should be taken very seriously because if we do not continue to preserve the land of the United States, they will be ruined. I think that we should not cut the size of these Monuments because each of them hold information about science and the cultures of other people. These National Monuments have historical value to the United States and I think that it is important to protect and preserve these beautiful areas.

  1. I agree whole heartily with you. You can build more buildings, cities, and towns but you can not build another luscious national park. That is why I agree with you to protect the national parks we have. For we need them in our lives as you said they show science, culture, history, and more to teach the future generations. Without these parks we will never know where we started from. The national parks take us back to our roots. You cant just cut off part of the park each part is important and plays a role without these parts you wouldn't have a park. This is why we must protect them as you said.

  2. I strongly agree with your standpoint on this issue. I think that we really need to preserve our national parks and native tribe lands. They serve as a reminder of how the Earth used to look and reflect upon the cultures and scientific studies that helped to shape the land. They serve as animal sanctuaries, and places of scientific study. Destroying or "cutting back" on these places may endanger the indigenous species of that area, thus hindering any type of study that runs parallel with the species and the surrounding environment.
