A plan to save the Polar Bears

Judging by the warming of the arctic, Polar Bears are in grave danger. A new research study found polar ice is melting 14% a decade. With these warming temperatures there are less land and animals to hunt in addition to their dropping reproduction rate. To feed them, scientists propose that they air drop bags of food for the animals to eat. To maintain genetic diversity scientists think it would be best to relocate the bears. If these ideas do not work, polar bears will have to exclusively live in zoos to ensure the safety of the species.

  1. It's great to see a plan is being created to help the animals of the arctic, but how much can you actually believe something will actually be done? There is an argument already about if global warming is real adn there is evidence that there is, but not much is being done.

  2. The climatic effect on polar bears in recent years is astronomical. The population of polar bears has dropped so significantly, that the species is now ranked as a vulnerable speacies that is steadily decreasing in number. Not only with climate issues effecting polar bears in a harmful manner, the recent Arctic National Wildlife Refuge controversy is also hindering the outlook of this precious species. With oil companies now allowed to drill on ANWR, thousands of species are at risk of their habitats and resources being destryoed. These two environmental obstacles are coninsiding to weaken the polar bear species as a whole.

  3. It's sad to hear that these animals are possibly on their way to becoming extinct because of environmental issues. This shows how us as humans need to do a better job of taking care of our planet because once it's gone, we don't just get a new one.

  4. It is crazy the rate at which the ice is melting, and it is difficult to stop it from taking this course. It would be hard to move these polar bears out of there homes into these enclosed environments.
