Saving the Northern White Rhinos

Scientists recently created two embryos of the northern white rhino, which there are only 2 females left in the world. The embryos were created with eggs from the females and sperm from dead males, it is planned that they will be transferred into a southern white rhino sometime in the near future. This is very important because we can start to slowly bring back the near extinct northern white rhino species. If we are able to do this it gives us hope to be able to help other species in the future. This is an amazing achievement and I am excited to see what else it leads to.

  1. This is very interesting and an inventive way to bring back a near extinct species. It is also important that scientist can save this species because of the important role they play in their ecosystem in regards to their grazing which helps to shape their landscape.

  2. This article is very interesting because this is a very effective way of not allowing animals to become extinct and to carry on their place in the ecosystem. This will allow scientists to create new species but still have DNA of the other rhinos which will create diversity between the species in the ecosystem.
