Plastic to Fuel
A team developed a chemical conversion that can convert polyolefin plastic into polymers, monomers, naphtha, and fuel. They're trying to produce high quality gas and diesel fuel from this process. With the amount of polyolefin waste produced each year can cover 4% of the worlds gas or diesel fuel usage.
I think this can be very useful because of all the plastic waste in our oceans. It'll help reduce the pollution in the oceans and it'll create a clean fuel we can use at the same time.

This is a very innovative reuse of our plastic waste products. It is extremely beneficial to turn something that we have a surplus of into something that we have a deficit of. It is important for us to continually strive towards cleaner fuel in order to halt the production of emissions from other sources of fuel.
ReplyDeleteThis is a very smart way to try and reduce our waste. Also a great way to keep it out of our oceans. Great for the environment.
ReplyDeleteCool! This is so amazing, I know it is a stretch but I hope one day this is going to be the "norm". This is a win win for everyone!
ReplyDeleteThis is very interesting and is something everyone should know about
ReplyDeleteWow cool beans dog! I hope they get that started, it will probably help the environment and stuff. People should be looking into other waste materials to see if we can make more fuel.
