Prehistoric sharks had scissor teeth

I thought this was a really cool article because it shows how species can change to better survive.
The Edestus shark used to have teeth that were shaped like scissors but they died out a long time ago or changed.
If sharks still had teeth like this I think a lot more people would be scared of them

  1. I find this fact very interesting but what would make them evolve out of the scissor teeth? It seems like that would be an evolutionary advantage rather than a disadvantage.
