insects

Scientists have found that insects are beginning to deplete. Since the 1990's, 80% of earth's insect biomass has disappeared. The reason for the lack of insects is due to agriculture. The pesticides and fertilizers are killing them off along with destroying their habitat. Other reasons for their disappearances are insect diseases and climate change. Their depletion is alarming because they feed many animals, they pollinate a majority of the plants on earth, keep soil healthy, help recycle nutrients, and control pests. I believe insects are very important and need to be helped in order to keep a stable environment.

  1. This is extremely important because insects play a major role in the environment. They help the environment in a major way by pollinating plants, aerating the soil, and can control other plants and plant pests.
