Stomach of Dead Whale

Before the Whale died it was weak and vomiting up blood. The stomach of the whale was full of plastic surprising the people who were doing a necropsy on it to figure out the reason the whale died. Its possible that the whale could've been suffering for months or a few years. There have been a lot of aquatic deaths that have occurred because of plastic waste, fishing nets, and pollution. We should keep our oceans clean so the aquatic life will thrive.

    We need to do something about keeping the oceans cleaner. I also am curious to how the plastic affected the whale to the point it vomiting up blood.

    I also agree, we need to stop polluting our oceans. The vomiting is strange and if those are the side effects of whales eating waste... we need to pick up after ourselves.

Acid Zone in Chesapeake Bay Found

     According to the University of Delaware, the Chesapeake Bay is becoming acidic as it has gone to 7.4 pH from an average of 8.2. The oxidation of ammonia and hydrogen sulfide may be the factor that is leading to the higher acidity levels in coastal oceans, but it can eventually lead to more of open oceans. Naturally the waters of the Chesapeake Bay have a regulatory system that holds back the increase of acidity levels in the area, and this works as the dissolving of living shells, non-living aragonite, and calcite minerals.
