An acid found in soil may make a disease killing deer less infectious

Humic acids that are found in soil can be applied to elk brain tissue and nearly erase the brain protons called prions that cause a chronic wasting disease.  This disease is an incurable neurodegenerative disease that has killed deer, elk, and moose.  I think this is interesting and it is very good they have found a way to help these other populations of animals.

  1. I was unaware that there was something so harmful to deer in the soil.

  2. This is alarming because deer, elk, and moose were probably decreasing quickly because they eat grass which grows in soil.
