Can technology reduce carbon?

The level of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere continue to increase and nothing is slowing it down. Researchers are trying to create new technologies to help capture these gases in the atmosphere. These pieces of technology will be able to trap carbon and convert it, if they work well. However, there are some companies that argue this could cause more pollution. If this technology is able to help reduce emissions that would be great, but for now the emissions will continue to grow. The easiest and safest solution is to switch to forms of renewable energy like wind and solar. It is very important for everyone in the world to come together to be less dependent on fossil fuels and to use other forms of energy, so that the world stops warming up. If emissions continue to grow, we will not be living for much longer.

    I think more scientists should invest in trying to find some type of technology that can reduce carbon without producing any. If there is a way to create this technology then it could have a huge impact on how much greenhouse gasses we produce and can help us move towards only using renewable energy.

    I found this article very interesting because I was unaware that scientists have been trying to create new technologies to capture carbon dioxide and convert it but not release any in the process. If the scientist are successful and everyone worldwide comes together to be less dependent on gases that are harming our environment and more on renewable forms of energy that aren't causing the Earth to warm up. I think it is a good idea to use renewable forms of energy such as wind and solar to help limit emissions and save the Earth we live on.

Acid Zone in Chesapeake Bay Found

     According to the University of Delaware, the Chesapeake Bay is becoming acidic as it has gone to 7.4 pH from an average of 8.2. The oxidation of ammonia and hydrogen sulfide may be the factor that is leading to the higher acidity levels in coastal oceans, but it can eventually lead to more of open oceans.
