Olive mill wastewater transformed: From pollutant to bio-fertilizer, biofuel

We use olive oil for cooking many dishes but never would we suspect that mixing olive oil and OMW-sawdust could possibly create fertilizer and fuel which is safe for the environment. I feel that if scientists could possibly secure this idea that the use of dangerous and pollutant fertilizers and fuel could end for Mediterranean countries, by combining OMW-sawdust and olive oil you could create eco-friendly fertilizer and fuel which would greatly improve the pollution in those areas.

  1. This is a really interesting concept. To be able to use something so common like olive oil to make something so beneficial to the environment would be amazing. I wonder if this is created, if we could possibly use other common things to create even more beneficial things for the environment.

  3. I agree with Jenna that this is a very interesting concept. The fact that such a simple and common household item can be used for environmental reasons is great. By experimenting with other common items, hopefully they can discover other materials that will benefit the Earth.

  4. I think this is great and that we should search for more safe alternatives , especially if these solutions are everyday items or items that are present in all households.
